Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole, former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, and Senator representing Ondo-North senatorial district, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice has purchased N100 million Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to run for president.
Senator Amosun formally declared for the 2023 presidential race on Thursday in Abuja.
Also, Dr Onu had on Friday morning, at the NUJ International Press Centre in Abuja, formally announced his bid for the 2023 presidential ticket of the APC.
Associates of the Central Bank Governor (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, have also obtained the APC presidential nomination form on his behalf, earlier on Friday.
Meanwhile, former Zamfara Governor, Senator Sani Yerima, on Friday at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, declared for the 2023 presidential race, under the platform of the APC.
His declaration has added to a growing list of aspirants bidding for the party’s presidential ticket.
Among Presidential aspirants are Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state; Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation and Sen. Rochas Okorocha.
Others are Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi; Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Productivity; Chukwuemeka Nwajuba, the Minister of State for Education; Gov. David Umuahi of Ebonyi; Pastor Tunde Bakare and Sen. Ken Nnamani.
Others still are Ekiti governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi; former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole; Jigawa State governor, Mohammed Badaru.
The APC special presidential primary convention is scheduled to be held from Monday, May 30 to Wednesday, June 1.
