A Lagos Special Offences Court has granted bail to Jude Okoye, former manager of the defunct music group P-Square, in an ongoing trial over an alleged theft of $1,019,763.87 and £34,537.59. Justice Rahman Oshodi, presiding over the case, granted Okoye bail in the sum of N50 million with two sureties in like sum. The court mandated that the sureties must reside within jurisdiction and provide proof of three years’ tax payments. Owoeye of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, has adjourned the alleged $340,000 fraud case involving Ezekiel ThankGod, former manager of gospel artiste, Mercy Chinwo till May 14, 2025 for hearing. A former Presidential Spokesman, Dr Doyin Okupe, has been reportedly dead. Sahara Reporters reports that Okupe’s death was linked to cancer having been battling with Prostate Cancer for the past 16 years. He died at the age of 72. He was reported to have been critically ill in the weeks leading up to his death. He was also reported to have been hospitalised for prostate cancer in October 2023 when he was flown to Israel for treatment.
