The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that it has received a formal petition initiating the recall process for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the representative of the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The petition, which has been officially lodged with INEC, outlines the grounds for the recall and calls for a process to be initiated that could potentially lead to the removal of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan from her elected position before the end of her term.
The petition was submitted on Monday and was received by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony
INEC will now review the petition to determine if it meets the necessary legal and procedural requirements to trigger the next stages of the recall process.
